Is This America Anymore?

The great Thomas Jefferson said, "My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

We failed to receive this admonition, nor did what Jack Kennedy said, "Ask not ..."

In my opinion, where "it really went off the deep end" was Jack's successor, and his "great society," the federalizing of welfare and the crime against the early Boomers known as Vietnam. America has never been the same since, and in many ways has only gotten worse. It deeply grieves us who love this nation, and for what our children will not have, like we did.  

Does anyone remember the phrase we used to hear as kids, "It's a free country." You tell me: Is it, anymore? All American government does now is punish the producers with higher and higher taxes and fees, to the point of approaching economic (and social) tyranny. Alas.
