Dog Park Could Open in the Spring with Fence Donation

The Attleboro Dog Park met tonight at 6:30 at the .  The committee was thrilled to have City Councilwoman Shannon Heagney join us for an update on our progress.

The majority of tonight's meeting revolved around final arrangements for our upcoming Halloween Mutt March on October 23 at 1p.m. at near the Park Departments office. The rain date for the event is October 30. We also discussed how well we have done in terms of fundraising through the generosity of theThe Farmers Market has been very supportive in supplying space for a table for the Dog Parks fundraising efforts.

Next, attention was turned to developing sponsorship through advertising in our flyer. We will be seeking the help of local businesses that may want to support our efforts by advertising in our informational flyer which we hand out at all events.  A business card size ad is $100. Lastly, we were excited to learn of a lead on a donation of roughly 600 feet of fencing. The fencing is currently surrounding a construction site and needs to be evaluated to be sure it is in good condition. We want theto be a jewel in the crown of the City's Park system.  
The community support continues to be great. Financially, we are just over halfway to our goal of $12,000. A donation of fencing of this magnitude would put us in a position to open this spring. We hope to see everyone at the Halloween Mutt March. More info can be found at www.attleborodogpark.com.
