Attleboro Resident Asks For Help Funding Local Preschool

An Attleboro resident has taken to GoFundMe.com to ask for donations for her daughter's local pre-school

Resident Sara Westberg writes:

My name is Sara and I hope to make it possible to send Abigail to Little Folks School next year. We need to raise money to keep the school open so future students like Abby have a chance to be a Little Folk like her big brother Fred.

We believe in the school, the children, the teachers, and the parents; which make our school the amazing place it is and we hope you all can help us keep it that way.All revenue received by the co-op is used for the express purpose of maintaining and improving our school. Little Folks School was founded in 1947 by a group of parents concerned with their preschool children’s experiences. Little Folks School was then and still is a nonprofit organization 501c 3 administered by a Board of Directors.

Little Folks School Inc is a certified gofundme charity asking for donations to keep our school open for our children 2.9-5 yrs, maintaining existing materials and structures and operational for future generations. Every penny raised goes towards the school. Many preschools are facing a year of low enrollment which is hitting Parent Cooperative preschools particularly hard.

We are a preschool offering programs for children aged 2.9 through 5 years old. Little Folks School is licensed by the Department of Early Education & Care, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We are a cooperative group organized and maintained by parents, to provide the best physical, social and emotional development for our children. Little Folks School is independent of any religious affiliation and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, national origin, disability, marital status or sexual orientation. Little Folks School serves the needs of children by offering them enriching and rewarding experiences.

We offer a flexible yet consistent program. This fosters a positive, hands-on approach with respect for individual needs and differences. Small and large group activities are all geared to stimulate and aid in the development of fine and gross motor, social and cognitive skills. Our program shares with parents the responsibility of encouraging the development of self-esteem and the demonstration of cooperative, pro-social behavior. We saying is "that childhood is a journey, not a race" and that we are a family!
