Open House at the Old Powder House and Oldtown Church – North Attleboro

The North

Attleboro Historical Commission in collaboration with the First Congregational Church UCC of North Attleborough is offering tours of the history of the Old Powder

House and Oldtown Church this Sunday, 9/29, from noon to 3 pm.  Mr. Jack Byrnes will tell the history of the 1768 powder house used to store ammunition in colonial times.  Mrs. Carolyn Chretien will speak about the
history of Oldtown Church and its congregation, gathered in 1712, and of the third meeting house built in 1828.

Parking for both locations will be in the church lot, at 675 Old Post Rd, North Attleboro, MA.  The powder house is a short walk around the corner onto Mt Hope St.  All area residents are welcome to this free open house.

The Falls Fire Barn Museum in Attleboro Falls will also be open during the event for
visits.
