Community Corner

Seekonk Then and Now

Hurricane Sandy kept us from giving Seekonk Celebrates: Read! a proper farewell; but we are happy to report that the novel certainly got Seekonk residents talking about life in small town New England.

Tonight, we celebrate our favorite small town of all-Seekonk!  Tonight, Greg Esnay from The Old Grist Mill Tavern, Eleonora Rezek from the Historic Jacob Hill Inn, and local historian Frank Mooney will all be here to discuss the town's unique history.  Learn why Seekonk was part of two states, how Jacob Hill the Inn and The Grist Mill played a huge role in the community, and much more.

We want to hear your stories too!  How has Seekonk changed through the years?   Do either of these institutions play a role in YOUR history?  Bring the family and join us for a look back at Seekonk through the years.

This event is part of Seekonk Celebrates: Read!, A Seekonk 200th Anniversary event.     Location: Large Meeting Room
