Weekend Showers Likely in Attleboro

Showers could hit just in time for Attleboro High School's graduation

The National Weather Service is predicting showers in Attleboro beginning Friday and lasting through Saturday night.

According to the weather service, the rain will begin Thursday night after a week of mostly sunshine.

"As we step into Thursday, clouds return and by the end of the day (after 6pm) there will be a slight chance of some showers with a better chance of showers at night," wrote WHDH's Jeremy Reiner in his weather blog this week. "By Friday it will be full on clouds, showers & humidity as a storm that was born in the tropics (but shall remain nameless at this time) wobbles up the east coast. This storm will likely toss some locally heavy pockets of rain into New England (looks like western/northern New England right now) on Friday & Friday Night. The storm will try to stay in the northeast for the start of the weekend so plan on Saturday offering a chance of some showers with Sunday the better of the two days."

The rain could put a damper on the Attleboro High School graduation ceremony, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Tozier-Cassidy field. Inclement weather will bring the ceremony inside, but will limit students to two tickets.
