Top 10 Baby Names in MA Revealed

The Social Security Office revealed the most popular list for 2010 today.

Ryan and Isabella reigned in Massachusetts in 2010.

The Social Security Administration today released its annual list of most popular baby names in the U.S. last year. Isabella tops the charts in Massachusetts and nationally as the most popular name for baby girls. But Ryan, which tops the chart in Massachusetts for boy names, comes in 23 nationwide. Nationwide, Jacob is the top choice and has been on the top 10 list for 12 years.

Isabella jumped up on the Masachusetts list for 2010. In 2009, the name ranked second, coming just behind Olivia. Ryan was tops in 2009 as well.

It's the second year in a row for the baby name craze around the “Twilight” novels and movies, the federal agency reports. The second fastest riser on the boys’ list is Kellan, the name of actor Kellan Lutz, best known for playing Emmett Cullen in the “Twilight” series.
