Teen Accused of Brutal Attempted Murder and Other Stories from the Region

A 15-year-old Attleboro male was arraigned Thursday in Taunton Juvenile Court for attempted murder and various other charges after he stabbed, attempted to drown and attempted to kill by asphyxiation a 63-year-old female neighbor Wednesday night, Attleboro police reported. The victim was at Rhode Island Hospital as of Thursday, and her injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to the police.

Milo the Dog Euthanized

After biting a second person in Mansfield, Milo the dog was euthanized Monday afternoon. Two days earlier, the pointer basset had attacked the 16-year-old daughter of the owner inside her home. She was transported to Hasbro Children's Hospital to receive treatment from the incident. The teenager suffered serious injuries to her face. Her current condition is unknown.

Conflict with Jewish Holiday Creates Town Meeting Conflict

By a 3-2 vote, Seekonk selectmen voted Wednesday morning to move the date of this month's special Town Meeting from March 25, the first night of the Jewish holiday Passover, to March 27.
