Panera locations in Plainville, North Attleboro and Seekonk behind breast cancer awareness efforts.

Panera bread is baking pink bagels and donating a portion of proceeds from their sales to and the Gloria Gemma Cancer Resource Foundation.

In honor of October being breast cancer awareness month, the chain has brought back the pink bagel to sell to its customers and donate the proceeds.

The pink bagels are available at several of the chain's locations including the ones in Seekonk, North Attleboro and Plainville. Twenty-five cents from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold and one dollar from each Power of Pink Bagel Pack will go to the hospital and foundation.

"For several years, Panera Bread has donated a portion of the proceeds from their Pink Ribbon Bagel Campaign to Sturdy Memorial Hospital," Sturdy Spokesperson Kathi Hague said. "Monies received from Panera are used to support the Hospital’s breast health and oncology public programming."

"We are fortunate to be a recipient again this year and appreciate their generosity" Hague added.
