School Committee Meetings Go Online

Here's a look at what's happening in Attleboro.

1. You can observe school committee meetings by attending them or watching on television, and now you have a third option—watching via the Internet. The school committee unanimously approved a request by DoubleACS Monday to allow live streaming and on-demand webcasting of meetings. DoubleACS was accepted into a YouTube program that allows unlimited webcasting, operations manager James Jones told the committee.

A link to the YouTube videos of the meetings will appear on DoubleACS' website. The plan is also to provide a searchable archives that will include a by-topic index. The cable channel is also expected to place city council meeting videos on the web.

"The city of Attleboro is lucky to have such a professional and innovative community cable provider," School Committee Chair Mike Tyler said.
