Saved Attleboro Dog, Minnie Continues to Progress

Friends of Attleboro Animal Shelter President Kim Penque said Minnie, the dog who was found on the corner of Brown Street and Mendon Road last week, is a "miricle girl."

"She was discharged from the Vet at approximately 12 on Saturday," Penque said. "She has gained nine ounces and was wagging and wiggling from head to tail."

When Minnie was found last Wednesday, she was in poor health, weighing approximately 20 pounds less than what she should. Her abdomen was filled with fluids, uncooked rice and a condom.

Officials are still looking for her owner or someone who may know who Minnie belongs to. According to Penque, they have not received any tips.

Still, Minnie's health has improved dramatically.

"She is now in foster care [and] heads back to the Vet on July 8th for Stitch removal, vaccines and will be back to the vet in three weeks for a re-check on her Pancreas levels," Penque said.

If you would like to donate to Minnie’s care, checks can be made payable to FAAS PO Box 592 Attleboro MA 02703, please write “Minnie” in the memo
