Eric Valdepeñas, a 21-year-old Marine lance corporal from Seekonk, was killed by a roadside bomb Monday in Iraq's Al Anbar province in 2006. To honor his contribution to the country, the Taunton Avenue U.S. Post Office was named in honor of him. A plaque with his picture hangs in the hallway of the building.
