As of 11 a.m., the power is out for 856 of 19,381 customers in Attleboro and 3,189 of 6,333 customers in Seekonk. The number in Attleboro was 1,565 earlier this morning. The number in Seekonk has actually risen slightly since that time.

Seekonk Board of Selectmen Chair Francis Cavaco said power is out at Town Hall on 100 Peck St. and the public schools. There is no back-up generator at Town Hall, but there is one at the schools for emergency lights and refrigeration. The public safety complex next to Town Hall that includes a police and fire station is running on a generator.

Power lines have fallen on various roads in the town.

Cavaco said there is no plan at this time for an emergency shelter. If it were colder, there would be one. Public schools in Seekonk were closed today. Whether they will be open tomorrow depends on the power situation, Cavaco said.
