Morning Forecast Puts Snow Totals Closer to 3 Feet

A blizzard warning is in effect until Saturday at 1 p.m.

The National Weather Service on Friday morning adjusted its predicted snowfall totals to three feet.

The timing of the snowfall is roughly the same: with light snow falling this morning and becoming heavy later in the afternoon and into the night, when the fiercest part of the storm is expected to hit. The blizzard warning is in effect until Saturday at 1 p.m.

  • Friday Daytime: High near 33. Breezy, with an east wind 11 mph to 20 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of three to seven inches possible.
  • Friday Night: The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 21. Windy, with a northeast wind 22 mph to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. New snow accumulation of 17 to 23 inches possible.
  • Saturday Night: Snow, mainly before 1 p.m. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 23. Windy, with a north wind 27 mph to 32 mph decreasing to 21 mph to 26 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph. New snow accumulation of seven to 11 inches possible.
