Brown Bird Recording
Where/When: Machines with Magnets, 400 Main St., Pawtucket; Thursday, March 24, 7 p.m.
Why Go: The alt-folk band Brown Birds is recording a live album tonight – this is your chance to be one of the enthusiatic screamers when David Lamb plays your jam.
Pricing: Free.

Nature Programming
Where/When: Caratunk Wildlife Refuge at 301 Brown Ave.; starts tonight depending on weather.
Why Go: Nature enthusiast Mike Tucker takes audience members on a memorable walk through the woods while learning about the wildlife that surrounds.

Parisian Gardens at Blithewold
Where/When: Blithewold Mansion, 101 Ferry Road, Bristol; Thursday March 27, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Can't make it to Paris this spring? Pop on a beret and head over the the seaside mansion to see Boston garden designer and consultant Maureen Bovet, who will transport you from Blithewold's Living Room to the most prized gardens in Paris – Luxembourg, Parc Monceau, Jardin des Plantes, Medieval Garden of Cluny Museum, and Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, to exciting new Paris gardens, such as Parc de Bercy, Promenade Plantée and André Citroën. 
Pricing: $20 non-members, $15 members

Newport Restaurant Week
Where/When: Begins Friday, March 25, and continues for a week.
Why Go: Restaurants open their doors and lower their prices for the public to sample their best dishes. One example: Tonight the Gas Lamp Grille offers a four-course treat from the chef's creative pizza selection paired with an 8 oz. craft beer from Newport Storm.

Recreation and Sports Expo
Where/When: The Taunton Inn & Conference Center at 700 Myles Standish Blvd. in Taunton; Sunday, March 27, noon to 4 p.m.
Why Go: The Expo will feature local vendors who specialize in golf, camping, hiking, kayaking, biking, tennis, running and more. Both events offer raffles, door prizes, attendee gift bags, free admission and parking.
