Attleboro's Bark Not Loud Enough for PetSafe Judges

Attleboro did not win PetSafe's Bark for Your Park contest, but dog park organizers push on.

The Attleboro Dog Park Committee received word that Attleboro is not the winning community in the PetSafe Bark for Your Park contest, a contest that would have covered all the necessary costs to opening a dog park on Pond Street in Attleboro.

Despite having an award-winning videographer, Trisan Rudate of and Double ACS, helping with the project, 15 other communities wooed the judges.

"Yes,  we were disappointed but still have enjoyed the victories and excellent public relations we gained with the contest and experience," committee member Raymond Chord said."We are just honored and amazed that we made the top 25 communities in the country during the competition."

The two-minute video may not have won the prize for a future dog park, but that has not stopped members from keeping their eyes on the prize.

"We are more determined than ever to keep this project moving forward with the momentum we have gained and look forward to our other fundraising events."

Committee members are presently starting a Buy-A-Brick drive with the personally engraved bricks to be used in a special dog park project.

The kind of project is still up in the air, according to Chord. "We have a few projects in mind depending on the number of bricks we get, including a Brick Community Pet Board, a Wishing Well, a Rainbow Bridge Memorial Garden or with enough bricks for a shelter to stay out of the sun," he said.

The committee is looking forward to future contests by PetSafe.
