VIDEO: Living Statues Deliver Free Tax Prep

Paul Pliakas, owner of Liberty Tax Service in East Providence, and his employee Amy Dougan, visit Seekonk Public Safety Headquarters to deliver free tax help and doughnuts.

The Seekonk Public Safety complex got a visit from two Statues of Liberty on Wednesday - only they weren't made of copper and didn't speak French.

Paul Pliakas, owner of Liberty Tax Service, and his employee, Liz Dougan, visited municipal departments in Seekonk and East Providence Wednesday afternoon to offer free tax preparation services during an "appreciation week" running from March 7 to March 13.

Pliakas brought letters for each full-time and on-call member within the police and fire department ranks.

"This week we'll honor the courage and dedication to our men and women in law enforcement and public safety to show appreciation for their work and keeping this community safe - by providing free tax preparation to police officers, firefighters, EMTs and anyone who works in law enforcement and public safety," Pliakas said.

Dougan brought doughnuts. And though there was a near spill, they were delivered safely.
