Public Hearing Set For Attleboro Car Dealership

A public hearing is scheduled for Jan. 21 at City Hall relative to the renewal of a Class 2 Auto License for AOK Auto Sales on 650 Washington St.

City Councilman Jeremy Denlea, in his last action as the chair of the Committee on Licenses, scheduled the hearing as a result of a complaint received regarding the used auto sales business.

Denlea would not specify the nature of the complaint, instead opting to wait to the public hearing when a representative from the business could defend him or herself. He said only one complaint was waged against the business.

Denlea asked City Councilors last week to extend the business' license renewal request for the time being, as the license was set to expire. The request was approved unanimously with the provision that councilors could take action related to the license if necessary.

Newly elected City Councilman Ronald Churchill is taking over as the chair of the council's Lincenses Committee. Denlea will be chairing the Committee on Ordinances, Elections, and Legislative Matters for the 2014-2015 term.

The Public Hearing will be held in City Hall chambers.
