Pink Ribbon Bagels Support Sturdy Hospital and Cancer Foundation

Panera Bread locations in Plainville, North Attleboro and Seekonk support breast cancer awareness efforts.

Panera Bread is baking pink bagels and donating a portion of proceeds from their sales to and the Gloria Gemma Cancer Resource Foundation.

In honor of October being breast cancer awareness month, the chain has brought back the pink bagel to sell to its customers and donate the proceeds.

The pink bagels are available at several of the chain's locations, including the ones in , North Attleboro and Plainville. Twenty-five cents from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold and one dollar from each Power of Pink Bagel Pack will go to the hospital and foundation.

"For several years, Panera Bread has donated a portion of the proceeds from their Pink Ribbon Bagel Campaign to Sturdy Memorial Hospital," Sturdy spokeswoman Kathi Hague said. "Monies received from Panera are used to support the hospital’s breast health and oncology public programming."

"We are fortunate to be a recipient again this year and appreciate their generosity" Hague added.

will also give 10 percent of the sales of its catering orders to the Gemma Founation for those customers who order catering from that location and say "Cater Pink."

“We appreciate the opportunity to partner once again with Panera Bread and its Pink Ribbon Bagel Campaign,” said foundation Executive Director Maria Gemma in a press release. “The campaign is a great way to not only raise funds for our specific programs, but to also promote the importance of early detection and breast cancer education and awareness.”
