Cystic Fibrosis Fundraising Dance/Raffle

Cystic Fibrosis Fundraising Event to be Held on St. Patrick’s Day

North Attleboro, MA – Get your dancing shoes on and your bidding arm ready: it’s time to do some good! On March 17th – St. Patrick’s Day – a fundraising event will be held at the Newell-Blais VFW Lodge #443 in North Attleboro, to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Cystic Fibrosis is one of the most common genetic disorders, caused by two copies of a faulty gene. It affects the lungs and pancreas, and is characterized by symptoms such as frequent respiratory infections, “failure to thrive” or an inability to gain or sustain weight, pancreatic insufficiency to the point that patients are unable to digest fats without medication, and a decreased average lifespan, which currently stands in the mid-30s.

Last year, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation helped fund research which lead to the development of new medications which caused significant improvements in patients. The drugs, created by Vertex, were recently approved by the FDA. However, more funds are needed in order to continue these strides and help make “CF” stand for “Cure Found”.

Doors open at 7pm. Food will be served – pub food “with a twist”, and a cash bar will be available. A DJ will be on hand to keep the music going throughout the night. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
