Bristol County Receives Government Grant for 120 Laid Off Workers

Over a dozen Bristol County companies will receive government help.

A grant of $1,081, 678 was awarded by the United States Department of Labor to provided employment-related assistance and for jobs for 120 workers laid off in Bristol County, according to a FOX-25 news report.

Those eligible for the assistance were affected by layoffs and closings at the following Bristol County businesses:

  • A. L. Ellis Inc., Alliance Paper Co., Inc.
  •  American Dryer Corp., Blount Fine Foods
  •  C & E Industries, Corporate Image Apparel, Inc.
  •  Findings, Inc.
  • Griffin Manufacturing Co.
  • Inc., Lightolier (Gentyle Thomas Group LLC)
  • New England Electropolishing
  • Rapster, Inc.
  • Reflek Corp.
  • Rock-Tenn Co.
  • Spectrum Lighting, Inc.
  • Swan Dyeing and Printing Corp.
  • Victor Residential (formally Quaker Fabrics).
The grant will be managed by the Bristol Workforce Investment Board and provide workers with employment and service training, Adult Basic Education, General Educational Department (GED certificate, job-search services and vocational skills training.
