By Chris Helms:

Although Massachusetts added 9,000 jobs in October, the unemployment rate still rose.

The Bay State unemployment rate climbed to 7.2 percent in October after dipping to 7.1 percent in September, according to the Associated Press via CBS Boston. That brought the October rate back to the 7.2 percent figure seen in August.

Massachusetts' jobless rate is slightly lower than the national average of 7.3 percent.
