With a 58-50 victory in the Taunton Field House the Bombardiers made it 4 in a row!

Senior Captain Beth Clifton opened up the scoring for Attleboro with a put-back, followed by Emily Houle’s hoop.  Clifton followed with another score inside and a 3 by Kim Runey gave the girls in blue a 9-4 lead.  A reverse lay-up by Clifton and a free throw ended the first quarter with Attleboro holding a 12-8 advantage.

In the second quarter Runey hit back to back shots(2 and a 3), Kerri Beland’s attempt was good, Sarah Deyo hit 1 of 2 from the stripe and 5 points by Clifton gave Attleboro a 25-17 lead.  Taunton was not to be denied and went on an 8 point run, ending the half in a 25-25 deadlock!

The Tigers showed great intensity in the second half and scored the first 5 points, taking a 30-25 lead.  Again Clifton went to work, scoring from inside and making good on a free throw.  Beland hit from behind the arc, giving Attleboro a 31-30 lead.  A free throw by Houle ended the quarter and Attleboro was in front, 34-30.

In the final 8 minutes of play the lead changed 4 times.  A 3 by Houle put Attleboro in front but the Tigers countered with their own 3 and took back the lead.  Clifton continued to dominate inside and scored 7 of her game high 22 points during the final minutes of play.

As time was running out Taunton was forced to put Attleboro on the free throw line.  Once again the successful shooting from the stripe proved to be the game winner for the Bombardiers, as they hit 7-8 in the last 1:59 of the contest.

Clifton led the blue with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals.  Emily Houle followed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  Kerri Beland hit for 9 points, added 7 rebounds and handed out 5 assists.

Attleboro was without the services of Senior Captain Bri LaPlume, who was sidelined with a sprained ankle.

The Bombardiers are now 6-3 and have a busy week ahead.  On Monday they will host Dartmouth, Wednesday Foxboro and on Friday will travel to Franklin.  All three games have a starting time of 6:30.
