Beland and LaPlume Pace Attleboro Win! Attleboro 56 -King Phillip 36

Kerri Beland scored a season high 21 points, along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists.  Senior Captain Bri LaPlume had a season high 17 points and continued as a force on the boards, with 10 rebounds.  Their combined 38 points was more than the KP team was able to put up on the scoreboard.

LaPlume set the tone with an opening game put back, followed by 

7 consecutive points from the hot hand of Beland.  Kim Runey’s hoop, free throws by Beland and LaPlume gave the Bombardiers a 12-2 advantage.  Hoops by Beland and Emily Houle closed out the first 8 minutes of play with Attleboro in the drivers seat, 16-4.

A reverse lay-up by Senior Captain Beth Clifton widened the Attleboro lead in the opening minute of the second quarter.  Baskets by LaPlume, Beland and free throws by Houle widened the gap.  LaPlume scored the next 8 points for the Bombardiers and the half ended, 36-16.

In the third quarter King Phillip went on a run, scoring the next 7 points of the contest, before Attleboro hit on 6 free throws.  Baskets by Beland, Houle and LaPlume gave the girls in blue a sizeable 50-32 lead.

During the final 8 minutes of play Coach Traversi was able to substitute freely, giving the Bombardier reserves an opportunity to take the court.  Senior Karissa Hand closed out the game with a buzzer beater 2.

In addition to the efforts of Beland and LaPlume, contributing to the Bombardier decisive victory were Houle with 8 points and 5 rebounds, Clifton, who contributed 6 points and 6 rebounds and the teams 17-20 free throw shooting.

The Attleboro JV’s earned a 41-35 victory.

The Bombardiers record is 5-3, 3-2 in Hockomock League play.  They will travel to Taunton on Friday, to take on the orange and black at 6:30.
