Ladies First!

After a long and very well-received Member's Exhibition, the Attleboro Arts Museum is moving onto the next inspiring display!

February 14th, better known as Valentine's day, kicks off this year's installment of the Museum's Permanent Collection exhibition, entitled "Ladies First." This special exhibition will feature the "feminine side" of the Museum's permanent collection, showcasing nearly 30 works based upon depictions of women of all ages. The works in the show include several beautiful 2-D drawings and paintings, as well some remarkable sculptures and dolls.

Founded in 1923, early supporters of the Museum showed their commitment by donating fine art, memorabilia and other items of aesthetic and historical interest. These works have helped form the Museum's permanent collection.

Ladies First will be up from February 14th - March 7th. All ladies entering the museum on the opening day will receive a free origami rose (while supplies last) courtesy of the Museum and Elizabeth Ling. On February 22nd, the city of Attleboro will celebrate it's annual Winter Night Festival, where the museum will also feature special extended hours from 5-9pm. Museum-goers that night will find the museum filled with crafters selling their goods as well as the Museum's permanent collection display.

Also of note, throughout the month of February, the Museum's community gallery will feature the wonderful work of local artist John Hunter Housley. Stop in soon to see all the Museum has to offer!
