Attleboro Arts Museum's 2013 Member's Exhibition

On the afternoon of Saturday, December 14th, the Attleboro Arts Museum will kick off it's annual Member's Exhibition. This year's exhibit features 301 pieces of art from 155 different artists. Every November, the Museum takes in a massive inundation of artwork from it's artist members in an effort to put on an unrivaled display of talent, execution, and overall artistic ability.

Works of art line the walls, oftentimes hung one above the next (3 high) and dominate the playing field. Numerous mediums occupy the space and compete for your attention. It is the viewer’s job to take a much closer look at the show in it’s entirety and start to sort out it’s individual details revealing each works true beauties.

The majority of the work in the exhibit comes from local artists from in and around the Attleboro/South coast area, displaying the regions many talented artists - From the up-and-coming youth to it’s seasoned veterans, the Museum shows off a wide range of talents from the region.

All the meanwhile, the Museum also has a special display in it’s Community Gallery of an Attleboro favorite, Barbara Corrigan. All of the works in this posthumous exhibition is available for sale, with prices ranging from $250 - $500. Also in the Community Gallery is “The Art of Celebrating.” This particular setup features seasonal commemorations made by local artists and donated to the Museum for it’s benefit. The raffle will be drawn on December 19th at 5pm and participants do not need to be present to win.

One can easily make the argument that a single visit to this exhibit is simply not enough in order to take in the complete beauty of the whole. Put that argument to the test. Stop into the Museum on Saturday the 14th to take in this behemoth of a show. The opening reception runs from 2pm – 4pm and the exhibit is up through January 31st (Museum Closed Dec. 25th – Jan 2nd), giving one ample time to take a second and third stroll through.
