Viewfinder: Culture Comes Knocking on Attleboro's Door with Music [VIDEO]

Cranberry Coast Concerts provides tunes for local families.

Cranberry Coast Concerts (CCC) have made their way back to Attleboro for another summer of music and fun. Performers of the CCC recently enlightened Attleboro families with their music.

Attleboro native and tenor Steven King along with soprano Linda Westgate performed some of their favorite pieces from operas and musicals during a performance Thursday, July 7 at the

King and Westgate took time to explain what they were singing and why they chose those tunes and the children seemed mesmerized by their voices.

The Attleboro Public Libary will host a free Cranberry Coast Concert program called "Informance for Children" Thursday, July 21 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Kirk Whipple and his wife Marilyn Morales, CCC directors, have plans to engage their young audiences with a variety of musical styles.

Whipple enjoys the opportunity to bring music to the children.

"More children would be inspired to practice if they were able to hear more professionals who are passionate about their craft," Whipple said. 

Thursday, July 14 between 3 and 5 p.m., the CCCs are holding auditions and a workshop for those students who would like to perform in the Outstanding Young Artist Concert at the in Attleboro on July 29. 

The music is not only for the children. The CCCs also perform for adults. Each week a different style of music will be showcased from improvisations on the piano, to a swing spectacular, a one woman show, a flash back to the rat pack, a concert pianist and Beethoven's famous 9th Symphony.
