The Art of Love Contest

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, The Village Artisan’s are sponsoring “The Art of Love”.

The Challenge:

Design or decorate an envelope to contain a Valentine’s poem or letter to your sweetheart. The envelope can be decorated with pencil, ink, water color, fabric, acrylic, fiber – whatever inspires your ardor. Your envelope may be flat or 3-D;  it need not meet “conventional” envelope standards.

Be sure to include in your envelope your Valentine’s Day message, which will be read aloud by you at the ceremony announcing the winner! (NOTE: All contestants can choose to read their Valentine aloud at the ceremony!)  The judging and ceremony will be on February 5th, 7pm and readings will start at 8pm at the village artisans collaborative. Refreshments and chocolate delights from The Cake Biz will be served. (Victorian Costume is Optional).

Envelopes will be judged on their uniqueness, creativity, and original design.
It may be safest if you choose to mail us your envelope to include it inside another envelope that meets USPS post requirements.  You can also always drop your entry off at the store during normal business hours.

Regardless of how you submit your entry, be sure to include your name, and contact information somewhere in your submission, so we can contact you if you are the winner!

The Prizes:

* 3rd prize: $25.00 gift certificate from Black Opal Florist.
* 2nd prize: $40.00 gift certificate from The Right Touch Day Spa.
* 1st prize: 5 lessons in 5 weeks from The Club West Studio
* Grand prize: A basket full of Valentine’s Day treasures from the artists at the Village Artisans Collaborative!

All entries will be displayed as received at the collaborative through the first week of February.

Deadline: Entries must be received by January 31, 2011.
