Anna Sokolow: Legend and Legacy

Congregation Agudas Achim and The Sokolow Dance Foundation will present Anna Sokolow: Legend and Legacy on November 13th at 4pm at the synagogue located at 901 North Main Street in Attleboro, Massachusetts.  This video lecture will include the documentary video, They Are Their Own Gifts, where 20th century Jewish/American dancer, teacher and choreographer Anna Sokolow, speaks about her life and work.  Generations of performing artists from Eli Wallach to Robin Williams credit much of their success to Ms. Sokolow’s movement concepts, which she taught at the Actors’ Studio and the Julliard School of Music in New York City.  The evening’s program will also include a live performance of Sokolow’s Kaddish by the Sokolow Now!, The Ana Sokolow Contemporary Dance Company.  A question and answer session will conclude the event.

Congregation Agudas Achim is a voice for Judaism in the southeastern Massachusetts and northern Rhode Island Reconstructionist movement. While creating a community for members of all ages, their gateway to Jewish living offers a comfortable, warm, and inviting experience for all. By integrating religious, social, and educational programs, the goal is to enable every member to become a learner and every learner a teacher.
