An Old Fashioned Fence Painting Party for Literacy Day

In honor of International Literacy Day and the Saturday reopening of the City of Attleboro Public Library, the Attleboro Farmers Market, the Attleboro Youth Commission, the YMCA, The Literacy Center, the Rotary Club of Attleboro and community volunteers will recruit individuals to whitewash the picket fence from
8 am to 1 pm at 74 North Main Street, Attleboro.

To get your chance to paint, bring a non-perishable food item to trade! Library staff and volunteers will be
presenting old-time fun from the 1800s from 9 am to 11 am. Play classic family games from Tom Sawyer’s time!  A limited supply of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”, the 2011 Big Read choice, will be given away, one per family.

Attleboro Farmers Market will be open from 8 am to 1 pm in the same location offering local produce, seafood, meats, bakery items, reclaimed jewelry, roasted
coffee, crafted wood items and more. Meet the folks from Attleboro Patch, who will be on hand at a booth that day - stop in and say hello! Personal Chef Lester Esser (http://www.lesteresser.com/) will demonstrate how
to make seafood paella at approximately 10 am at the Farmers Market. Tasting samples will be available after the demonstration.
