TELL US: Who Makes a Difference in Attleboro and Seekonk?

Help showcase people who are doing great things in your community with our new feature, Count Us In.

Your neighbor who volunteers at the library, your child's bus driver and the Little League coach in your community may not seem to have much in common at first glance.

But Patch's new initiative, Count Us In, aspires to bring together all Good Samaritans by highlighting residents who are exemplary at making your community a more positive place.

Partnering with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC), Count Us In aims to illustrate HPHC's values. They believe that "amazing things happen when people work together" and that is why we want to share stories about just that.

If you know someone who exemplifies being a good neighbor, volunteer or teacher—or someone who has simply helped the community in an inspiring way—please tell us about it in the comments section below. Your local editor will keep an eye on the conversation and will be writing articles about all of the amazing people and stories you share.

We welcome all great stories coming from great people in the community.

Though I no longer live in Attleboro, I would still like to name a person who has gone above and beyond for so many. Carol Cobb Ferraro is one of the Co-Chairs of the Attleboro Dog Park Committee and also involved with the Attleboro High School Marching Band. I first met Carol when I asked for people to help me with getting the first every dog park in Attleboro. She not only worked to full capacity for the dog park but for many years has worked with the band directors at Attleboro High School for the marching band. She has raised 3 wonderful children. Two are now full time students in college while her youngest son David attends Attleboro High School. Carol is married to her wonderful and supportive husband, Alan and she is also the proud owner of 4 funny, friendly and loving Jack Russell Terriers. This entire family gets involved with so many community minded activities all the while staying a strong family. I am so thankful that through Carol's help with the dog park that we are finally seeing the end result of Attleboro actually having it's very first off-leash dog park. We have become very good friends and I feel like a part of her family. I truly believe that Carol should be recognized for all that she has done not only for the dog park, but for the years she has been involved with the High School Marching Band. If ever a person deserved praise for doing something she not only believes in but truly loves it is Carol Cobb Ferraro. Thanks for being my friend.
