TELL US: Are You Prepared for a Zombie Apocalypse?

The American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts has launched a website to help residents prepare for an emergence of zombies.

Certainly in the spirit of Halloween, but more appropriate for the long-debated Mayan Apocalypse, the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts this week launched a new website that aims to prepare everyone for dealing with the potential rise of zombies, according to a report in the Metro this week.

The website, SavingZombies.com, provides readers with a count-down to the alleged "apocalypse" that some have suggested on the internet is predicted for Dec. 21 by the ancient Mayans (several resources have debunked the myth on the Internet, such as NASA.com; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, meanwhile, has released tongue-in-cheek "zombie warnings," but has also denied the existence of Zombies, according to The Huffington Post).

Moreover, the SavingZombies site provides tips on how to survive potential natural disasters like hurricanes, floods and/or earthquakes. But the added punch is the website also provides tips on how people can survive in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies.

The site also encourages readers to enter a contest by sharing how they would remain among the living:

"The Mayan Calendar end of ages is upon us. Ancient lore predicts 12-21-2012 may mark the beginning of an apocalypse. Will you be prepared? Show us your survival skills by making an American Red Cross Go Bag – a video automatically enters you to win a Red Cross prize."

So, while zombies will undoubtedly be out in full force this Halloween, will you be ready if the real zombies emerge in December? Let us know how you'd prepare for a zombie apocalypse in the comments section below!

Sorry to burst your bubble but no Mayans ever predicted the apocalypse, it's just the end of an era marked by their calender. here's a link to a webpage explaining the Mayan Prophecy http://www.spanishxela.com/2012-prophesy.html

Those are vampires, Jerry. Notice how they suck the cash out of our wallets?

Yup. The dreadful irony is that they keep getting re-elected at a 97% rate!
