Pirates, Fishing Festival and Revolution Soccer

Happy Memorial Day! Here are some fun local events that include carnival rides, pirates, a fishing festival and soccer at the stadium!

  1. Nature Exploration and Annual Fishing Event 
    Where/When: Borderland State Park, 259 Massapoag Ave., North Easton, Nature Exploration May 28, 10 to 11 a,m., Fishing Festival May 29, 9 a.m. to noon.
    Why Go: On Saturday enjoy a 1 to 1.5 mile family-friendly hike for adults and school aged children! Meet at the visitor center, no umbrella strollers or pets please. Rain will cancel.  Meet on Sunday at Lower Leach Pond for a morning of fishing! Bring your own pole or borrow one. All ages welcome, Meet at the lodge, rain or shine. Pricing:  $2. parking fee.
  2. Where/When:  La Salette Shrine, 947 Park Street, Attleboro, May 25 to May 30, Wednesday to Friday 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday noon to 10 p.m., Monday noon to 6 p.m.     
    Why Go: Do not miss the annual La Salette Carnival!  Amusements by Fiesta Shows.
    Pricing:  No admission fee, ride and game tickets can be purchased at the event, a printable coupon is available at www.fiestashows.com
       
  3. Airport Golf Fun Center  
    Where/When:  Airport Golf Fun Center, 582 Kelley Blvd., North Attleboro, open daily    
    Why Go:   The fun center includes an 18 hole mini golf course, driving range, batting cages and PGA golf instruction.  The batting cages include slow and fast pitch softball and 45 to 80 mph baseball. They also host birthday parties.

  4. New England Revolution vs. L.A. Galaxy 
    Where/When:  Gillette Stadium, Route 1, Foxboro, May 28 at 8 p.m. 
    Why Go: Come cheer on the New England Revolution players against L.A. Galaxy's David Beckham and enjoy a major league soccer game at beautiful Gillette Stadium!

  5. Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides
    Where/When: Showcase Cinemas North Attleboro or Foxboro, showtimes daily
    Why Go:  Come check out the newest Pirates of the Caribbean movie starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz at the Showcase!
