Paving on Kelley Boulevard to Cause Backups; Bit O' Sweden Fair Still On

Local businesses, churches and school on Kelley Blvd. in N.Attleboro and Attleboro told to expect 50 minute delays.

If you travel Kelley Boulevard (152) on a daily basis, be prepared as paving is set to begin Friday and continue through Saturday. The paving is expected to cause people to wait close to 50 minutes, according to officials who have posted signage saying "Expect Delays" at the corner of Kelley Boulevard and Bungay Road. 

Local businesses and schools have asked patrons to seek alternate routes while the paving which will take place at Kelley Boulevard from Route 95 South to Mary Kennedy Drive and Bungay Road from Kelley Boulevard to Indian Trail continues.

The project was expected to be complete by November 4, but was delayed due to the winter storm, according to the North Attleborough Department of Public Works. The delay has put a minor dent in planning for the which is holding its annual on Saturday, Nov. 5. While the paving may be a bit of a hassle, it's bitter sweet for organizers who say the fair is still on! Rather than sitting in traffic, commuters are encouraged to stop in and try Swedish fare.

Police details will direct traffic during paving operations. School bus service should not be interrupted, but may be delayed at times.

Officials are also asking neighborhood residents who have to leave for the day to be out of their driveways by 7:30 a.m., before paving begins.
