Pack 24 Celebrates in Style

Attleboro's Cub Scout Pack 24 and  last month played host to more than 150 family members, friends and distinguished guests at the safari-themed Blue and Gold ceremony. 

The day was filled with entertainment, awards and advancements as 43 boys gathered to celebrate the 102nd birthday of scouting and the 61st year of the pack. Festive decorations included wild animals, leafy trees and custom placemats.

Mayor Kevin Dumas, who is an Eagle Scout, and Angle Tree District Executive Roberta Gilson gave inspiring speeches. Safari-themed entertainment by each scout den, Pack 24's own Three Tenors and a surprise visit by a gorilla kept the fun going.

A family-style roasted chicken meal was catered by Cheryl Domenici of Sandwedges from the Rehoboth Country Club.

Webelos II scouts Matthew Lavoie, Matthew Scott and Mitchell Lydon received the highest award achieved in cub scouting—the Arrow of Light. Scouts from Troop 24, led by Scout Master Mark Teixeira, welcomed their newest members as they crossed over from Cub Scouts into Boy Scouts.

Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos I scouts, accompanied by their adult partners, received rank badges. Recognitions were also given to many leaders and volunteers within the pack. 

It was a proud day for Pack 24, Troop 24 and the recent graduates.
