Get Out! 6 Things to Do Around Attleboro This Weekend

Here are some great ideas that include a farmer's market, an afternoon on the links, an evening with Dr. Suess and a bit of soccer.

  1. "SEUSSICAL" AT Where/When:  School Auditorium, James St., Attleboro, Friday August 5 and Saturday August 6 at 7 p.m. and Sunday August 7 at 2 p.m.
    Why Go:  Escape from the sun and enjoy an evening or afternoon at the theatre!  The will present a wonderful rendition of "Seussical", a musical based on your favorite Dr. Seuss stories! This "kid-friendly" show and is for kids of all ages and includes such characters as the Cat in the Hat and Horton the Elephant.

  2. New England Revolution
    Where/When: Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, August 6 at 7:30 p.m.
    Why Go: Come enjoy a fun filled evening of soccer at Gillette Stadium! Come cheer on the New England Revolution as they play the Chivas. Be sure to come early as there is plenty to do at Patriot Place before the game!

  3. Rock 'N' Roll 1/2 Marathon Health and Fitness Expo
    Where/When: Rhode Island Convention Center, 1 Sabin St., Providence, Friday August 5 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Saturday August 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Why Go: This event is not to be missed by fitness fans! There will be over 60 exhibitors who will offer free samples, showcase the latest in running gear, sports apparel, health and nutritional information and much more.

  4. Where/When:  Parking Lot, 74 N. Main St., Attleboro, Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  5. Where/When:  Stone-E-Lea Golf Course, 1141 County St., Attleboro, open daily
    Why Go: Check out the new special pricing promotions and enjoy an afternoon at the Boro's own Stone-E Lea Golf Course! Stone-E-Lea has been family owned and operated by the Lapierre family since it's opening in the 1950's.  No need to worry about a tee time as the course is first come first served. The newly renovated air conditioned club house offers sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, soft drinks, beer, wine and alcohol.
    Pricing: Weekday regular $26 (18 holes) $17 (9 holes), junior (age 17 and under) $15 (18 holes) $9 (9 holes)and senior $20 (18 holes) $14 (9 holes).   6. Patriots Training Camp
    Where/When: Gillette Stadium, Patriot Place, Foxboro - daily, hours posted their website two days prior at www.patriots.com
    Why Go:  Visit the stadium and watch the Patriot's train for the upcoming season!  Bring your hats, shirts and footballs for autographs.  Also visit the Patriots Experience while you are there which is an interactive park featuring skill competitions, face painting and appearances by Patriots Cheerleaders.
