Get Out! Five Things to Do Around Attleboro This Weekend

Here are some fun events taking place this weekend within a short drive from the 'Boro that include the 9/11 remembrance ceremony, a church fair and live raptors!

  1. Dare to Dream: Disney on Ice
    Where/When: Dunkin' Donuts Center, One LaSalle Square, Providence, RI, September 14 through September 18
    Why Go: Do you know anyone who wants to be a princess?  Bring that special someone to enjoy a magical afternoon or evening with the beauty that is Disney on Ice!  This event will feature scenes from "Cinderella", "Tangles" and "The Princess and the Frog".

  2. St. Mark's Fair
    Where/When
    :  St. Mark's Parish, 105 Stanley St., Attleboro Falls, September 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: This annual fair will include numerous games and activities for children, a book room, arts and crafts/stitch and knit, a what-not-shoppe, raffles, baked goods and lots of food and fun!

  3. Raptor Weekend
    Where/When
    :  Audubon Environmental Education Center, 1401 Hope St., Bristol, RI, September 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: Wildlife experts and rehabilitators from across the northeast will bring showcase a wide variety of birds of prey at this event.  Eagles, falcons, owls and hawks will be featured in live flight demonstrations and educational programs for bird lovers of all ages!     
    Pricing:  Members adult $8., child $4., nonmembers adult $10, child $5. children under 4 are free 
  4. 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
    Where/When:  Capron Park, 201 County St., Attleboro, September 11 at 8:30 a.m.
    Why Go:  The POW-MIA, Remembrance Committee will hold a 9/11 Memorial service at the Veterans' Triangle in Capron Park.  The brief service will end at 9 am.  The committee's intends to have the steel artifact from the World Trade Center in place at this location for the event.

  5. The Edwin McCain Band with Adam Ezra Group 
    Where/When:  Showcase Live, 23 Patriot Place, Foxboro September 10 at 8 p.m.
    Why Go:  Come enjoy an evening with Edwin McCain at Showcase Live! McCain's pop hits include "I'll Be" and "I could not ask for more". His voice has launched a thousand marriages and stirred up southern soul for twenty years.
