Flu season is knocking on the door, and many doctors recommend you get vaccinated to avoid getting sick. There are opportunities for flu shots this month in Attleboro and Seekonk.
A flu clinic will take place this Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jonathan's Coffee Cafe, located at 68 Union St. in Attleboro. The clinic will be administered by Jacquie O'Brien from the city's health department. People should bring their insurance cards, and the cost of the vaccine will be billed directly to the insurance company through Commonwealth Medicine.
"If the individual is uninsured or insurance does not cover the cost of flu shots, vaccination will still be provided," a flier for the clinic states.
Those who are receiving the shot for the first time will be required to stay for 10 to 15 minutes for observation.
A clinic will take place from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 22 at Seekonk Town Hall, located at 100 Peck St. The clinic is avaialble for people ages 9 and older. You must make an appointment by calling the Board of Health at 508-336-2950.
