Farmer's Market, Air Show and the Expo in the 'Boro

Here are some fun local events that include a farmer's market, air show, renaissance fair and an expo in the 'Boro!

 

  1. Third Annual Expo for the Senses Where/When:  Downtown Attleboro, June 25, 12-5 p.m. (raindate June 26)
    Why Go:  Come hear the music, touch the jewelry & crafts, smell and taste the food, and see the art! This event will include a variety of ethnic foods prepared by local city restaurants and entertainment by artists, musicians and other performers.  Children will be able to enjoy a special area that will highlight a series of hands-on interactions with local educators, naturalists and City Police/Fire representatives. In collaboration with the Molly Bish Foundation parents will be able to have an ID booklet made including pictures and fingerprints of their child.

  2. Renaissance Fair Where/When: Winslow Farm, 37 Eddy St., Norton, June 25 an 26, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Why Go:  Come back in time where magicians and storytellers hold you captive, music can be heard from every corner and elaborate costumes create a sense of fun and majesty. This event will feature period musicians, singers, dancers food, fun and frolic but beware of the pirates!  No alcohol or pets or outside food allowed.
    Pricing:  Adults $12., Age 5-13 $7. Age 1-4 Free    
  3. Farmer's Market at Attleboro FarmsWhere/When: Attleboro Farms, 491 Hickory Rd., North Attleboro, every Sunday, 12 noon - 4 p.m. through December 18, 2011 
    Why Go:  Come support our local farms!  This year round farmers market features locally grown and produced food and other items sold by the farmers and artisans who produced them. This market often offers live music and activities for children.
    Pricing:  Free admission  
  4. RI Air National Guard Show  Where/When:  210 Airport St., North Kingstown, RI, June 25 and 26, gates open at 9 a.m. flights begin at 10 a.m.
    Why Go:  Come experience the excitement of the air show!  You can climb on board a military jet and get up close to all types of aircraft.  The show will include performances by the USN Blue Angel's, Sean D. Tucker, The Red Bull Aerobatic Helicopter, Geico Skytypers, USASOC Jump Team - The Black Daggers, Combined Arms Demo with Rich's Incredible Pyro, F-16 Viper Demo, C-130J Super Hercules and F-22 Raptor.  This event is fun for the entire family and earplugs will be provided at the door!
    Pricing:  Free admission and parking! 
  5. Triboro Musical Theatre's Performance of "She Loves Me"
    Where/When:  Thacher Auditorium, 199 James St., Attleboro, June 24 and 25 at 7 p.m.
    Why Go:  Come see this warm romantic comedy about two  feuding clerks in a European parfumerie during the 1930s who secretly find solace in their anonymous romantic pen pals, little knowing their respective correspondents are none other than each other.

  6. Taylor Swift Ticket Blitz at Patriot Place Where/When:  CBS Scene Restaurant and Bar, 200 Patriot Place, Foxboro June 24, 6 to 10 p.m.
    Why Go: Come enjoy a night out and join CBS Scene and Mix 104.1 for a chance to win tickets to see Taylor Swift.  They will be giving away 5 pair of tickets to Taylor's sold out Saturday show.  Mix 104.1 will be onsite with giveaways and more!
