Free Skin Cancer Screening

Sturdy Memorial Hospital will hold a FREE skin cancer screening on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 by appointment,


6 - 8 pm.  The screening will be held in the Oncology Suite located in the Emergency Care Center.  Dermatologist Dr. Olympia Kovich will conduct the screenings along with Hospital nurses.


Skin cancer is the uncontrollable growth of abnormal cells in a layer of the skin.  Most skin cancers are caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays.  More than 3.5 million skin cancers are diagnosed each year in the United States making it the most common of all cancers, according to the American Cancer Society.  To schedule an appointment, call 508/236-7015.
