County Street Bridge to Pawtucket Dedicated to 9/11 Victims

Local officals from both states joined on the newly completed bridge to remember the lives of a young couple who died on 9/11.

For the families of Lynn Goodchild and Shawn Nassaney Thursday was an unexpected honor, as last week the families received word from Attleboro Mayor Kevin Dumas that the County Street bridge connecting Attleboro to Pawtucket would be dedicated to their children.

Rep. George Ross gave credit for the idea to the Mayor's secretary, Kathy Ilkowitz, to name the bridge in memory of the couple who drove this road as their relationship grew nearly10 years ago. Ellen Goodchild, Lynn's mother received the unexpected phone call requesting a conference call from Rep. Ross and Mayor Dumas.

"I instantly thought what was wrong" declared Goodchild "but was instantly overwelmed with gratitude upon hearing of the dedication of the bridge".
