Grace Baptist Christian Academy Boys’ Soccer Team Defeats New Testament, 3-1

The boys’ soccer team of Grace Baptist Christian Academy of Attleboro concluded its regular-season schedule Friday with a solid 3-1 non-league victory over New Testament Christian School of Norton at the Poncin-Hewitt Fields in Attleboro.

Alex Rodrigues scored two goals and dished out an assist and teammate Nate Corkum added a goal and an assist as the Centurions improved to 6-7-1 this fall. GBCA will be idle until Nov. 1 and 2 when it travels to Newington, Conn., to compete in the Regional Tournament of the New England Association of Christian Schools.

Against New Testament, Rodrigues and Corkum both recorded a goal and an assist in the first half as the Centurions assumed a 2-0 advantage at the break. After the Knights tallied early in the second half to slice their deficit to one goal, Rodrigues drilled an unassisted score minutes later to seal the victory.
