Students in grades 4 through 8 at Dayspring Christian Academy will host stage performances of the musical “Annie” on April 4 and 5 at the adjacent South Attleboro Assembly of God Church located on Route 1A.
According to Director Emily Gallo, the April 4 performance will start at 7 p.m., and the April 5 production at 2 p.m. An admission fee, yet to be determined, will be charged to those in attendance.
In addition, DCA will host a chicken dinner at the school April 4 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., consisting of chicken, pasta, rolls, salad, beverages and desserts. Tickets prices for the dinner and play will be finalized soon.
Based on the popular comic strip Little Orphan Annie, created by Harold Gray, “Annie” portrays the escapades of a lively orphan girl in New York City in the 1930s. At DCA, the musical will be staged in several acts replete with designs, props and lighting.
Heading the DCA Abigail Phillips (as Annie), Caleb Vargas (Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks), Gabby Granata (Miss Hannigan), Lissette Westerlind (Molly), Ariana Hetu (Katie), Orli Juarez (Tessie), Juliana Phillips (Pepper), Claudia Agustin (July) and Faith Boirard (Duffy). Other prominent roles will be portrayed by students Gabby Freeman, Shriya Shukla, Sydney Lamarre, Tucker Delvental, Lianna Derr, Garmodeh Willie, Christine DaPaah-Afriyie, Jordan Stanford, Michael Basiliere, Abby Rajadurai, Hannah Asermely, Caleb Foreman, Gabriel Mullings, Victoria Thibert, Sophia Glennon, Daryl Costa, Rob Delvental, Catherine Messier, Sophia Harrison, Julia Del Vecchio, Sarah Brouillard, Tatum Bisch, Abby Champagne, Ava Gomes, Varnai Kesselly, Anitha Koka, Dalia Al-Magedi, Katie Conley, Malitey Mullings, Hannah Brouillard and Madeline Abjornson.
