Dayspring Christian Academy Observes 'Spiritual Emphasis Week'

A New Hampshire-based Christian ministry organization is providing guidance this week to students and staff members at Dayspring Christian Academy of Attleboro who are observing the school’s fifth annual “Spiritual Emphasis Week.”

Supervised by DCA’s Spiritual Advisor Robert Lavallee, representatives of Coastlands Consultants of Manchester, N.H., are reinvigorating the Christian faith of school students and staff members through a series of daily activities designed to increase their spiritual awareness. Coastlands Consultants is a relationally based ministry which provides on-site mentoring teams that function as missionaries in Christian venues, including schools and churches.

Daily activities organized by Coastlands Consultants this week at DCA include chapel services, journaling exercises and classroom interactions, all designed to enhance passion for and develop closer personal relationships with God. They also supervised interactive activities, assisted teachers in specific spiritual teaching points and engaged school members in spiritual songs, writing exercises and relationship projects.

“The purpose of ‘Spiritual Emphasis Week’ is to stress the importance to our students of putting God close to their hearts,” said Lavallee. “Object lessons are prepared to encourage our students and to provide answers to their questions about spiritual topics on a personal level.”

The Coastlands Consultants delegation at DCA was headed by Director Matt Huffman. During their stay in Attleboro, group members were housed and fed by the families of school students for the third successive year.

Because of the size of DCA’s student enrollment, Coastlands Consultants provided a support team for Huffman this week of 12 people, including Emily Jensen, Megan Jensen, Mariah Harris, Jenny Woo, Angela Dow, Gloria Nagel, Cassie Dall, Pam Brady, Jake Diaz, Chris Oh, Luke Morris and Nimrod Selmiczi.

“We always love coming to this school,” Huffman told DCA students during a chapel service. “We are here this week to help you, to support you, to challenge you and to encourage you to focus your lives on God.”

According to literature produced by Coastlands Consultants, the organization has existed for more than three decades and has ministered to Christian schools and venues throughout the United States.
