Dayspring Christian Academy Hosts Annual Christmas Chapel

In a combined solemn and  jubilant celebration of the Christmas season, students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 at Dayspring Christian Academy of Attleboro hosted the school’s annual Christmas Chapel program Friday at the adjacent South Attleboro Assembly of God Church.

In front of a near-capacity crowd of family and friends, students sang songs, recited scriptural passages and offered thanks for the birth of Jesus Christ, climaxing the final day of classes at the school in 2013. Grade by grade, students marched onto the main stage at the church to sing traditional as well as less familiar Christmas songs and to recite the life and achievements of Jesus Christ.

Attired in red gloves, Kindergarten students showed off their sign-language skills while singing a Christmas carol. Grade 5 students received the loudest ovation when they performed a stirring and contemporary version of “Joy to the World.”

Prior to the entertainment portion of the program, DCA’s prayer group headed by Karen Milton offered prayers for the holiday season and a special singing group performed a variety of seasonal favorites.

DCA Administrator Frank Rydwansky opened the program with brief remarks and Spiritual Director Robert Lavallee concluded it with a prayer.
