City Youth to Help Keep the 'boro Warm

Help the Attleboro Youth Commission "warm up Attleboro" during winter months by contributing to their fundraiser!

There are some great things when it comes to living in New England. The area is filled with history. There are many interesting cities and towns that are fun to visit. And the weather has a great variety.

Unfortunately, the weather can often be unbearably cold.

This year, it's been very mild. However, in most years come winter, many families in Attleboro who have difficulty heating their homes (especially in this economy) are forced to rely on organizations’ assistance for staying warm because of New England weather.

Every year, the Attleboro Youth Commission, the city’s board of youth leaders, hosts a fundraiser for the two main Attleboro heating funds: the Attleboro Energy Fund, and H.E.A.T. This year's "Warming Up Attleboro Fundraiser" is in the Den at the Elk's Lodge, on February 10th, from 6-9 pm.

Last year (it can be seen on Patch ), the Youth Commission raised roughly $1500 for each fund. And that’s despite the tough economy.

I know it’s been warm lately, but we can’t expect the weather to stay that way very long. Many fellow residents of Attleboro, maybe some people you may know personally, are going to need help when the temperature drops.

Consider attending the fundraiser hosted by the Youth Commission, or sending a small donation. Every penny helps.
