The celebration of the Purim holiday at Congregation Agudas Achim begins with a vegetarian potluck dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a reading of the Megillah around 6:30 p.m. The Megillah a retelling of the story of Purim whereby the Jewish people, led by Queen Esther and Mordechai, overcame Haman the Amelek.
Participants are encouraged to come in costume.

Lead by Rabbi Elyse Wechterman, Congregation Agudas Achim is a reconstructionist synagogue and a member of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation and Synagogue Council of Massachusetts. It welcomes members of diverse backgrounds, including interfaith families and offers services similar to those at conservative synagogues. It also offers a variety of opportunities for community involvement through youth groups, Hebrew school, trips and volunteer opportunities and much more.
