Sturdy Memorial Hospital offers a Diabetes Support Group meeting every fourth Wednesday of the month7 to 8:30 p.m. in the hospital auditorium. The group is free and open to the public. The topic of February's discussion will be “Diabetes and Heart Disease” presented by Sue Nordstrom, BSN, RN, director of cardiac rehab at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Sturdy Memorial Hospital has more than 120 physicians who provide medical services to more than 50,000 patients annually. The hospital has an Emergency Care Center, which is open 24 hours a day. The Emergency Care Center, offers a Quick Care service, available every day from 9 a.m. - 11 p.m., which provides medical care for patients with less-serious injuries and illness.The hospital offers a free physician referral line, several free support groups, including breast feeding, diabetes, cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis caregivers and blind and visually impaired, and free health fairs and screenings.
