With more than 1,000 visitors, the second annual Zoo Moon was deamed a big success by its co-chair Corey Shumaker, education director of Capron Park Zoo.

Shumaker and Melanie Fernandes organized appoximatly 36 vendors to be scattered through-out the zoo and a zoo crew roamed around the zoo to keep all the guests fully informed.

"The zoo crew, who are student volunteers, came early to assist with the vendor set up" Shumaker said. "Then as the visitors arrived they did what they do best–teach others about the animals".

The moon, however, was nowhere to be seen.

This was a blast, and I'm glad I got to go this year. Great vendors, and almost all of the animals were out and about!
