VIDEO: Seekonk Residents Bust a Move for Town’s 200th
Seekonk residents came out to the Bicentennial Ball to eat, drink and dance to the music of Malloi.
Seekonk residents braved the snowy roads to kick off the town’s 200th anniversary with the Bicentennial Ball at the Johnson and Wales Inn Saturday.
Residents were treated to cocktails, a chicken dinner, and the music of the band Malloi.
Many town officials made an appearance at the event, including Town Clerk Jan Parker, Selectmen Dave Parker and Bill Rice, School Committee Chairman Mitch Vieira, and Representatives Steve Howitt and Betty Poirier.
Longtime resident and former Selectman Donald Kinniburgh was also in attendance. He said he enjoyed himself and was looking forward to the next bicentennial event, the Kiwanis Annual Taste of the Town.
“These things are always a good time,” he said.
The ball also featured an ice sculpture featuring the town’s logo. It was donated by the Seekonk Republicans.
